"I like Take The Ride especially which pays more than passing homage to the angry, politicised Ska,
Punk and New Wave of the late 70's - energetic, ferocious and fizzing with unpredictability. I love it!"
Katy Noone - Producer - BBC Radio Humberside Introducing

“Counting Coins are the most refreshing band I’ve seen for years with the most amazing energy
reminding me of Operation Ivy and Capdown in their heyday.” Pat Pretorius - Producer/musician
- The Talks/Neville Staples/Bad Manners/The Beat

“The moment Counting Coins walked on to the stage and the drummer counted to four was when
many of us realised we were witnessing something very special... the stage dives, back flips, and
group skank-offs that followed confirmed these thoughts, re-opening the vaults of ska-punk for the
old-skoolers and re-invigorating the scene for the new generation.

Over the next year they played their hearts out becoming tighter and more passionate while
supporting bands such as Melt-Banana and The King Blues as well as playing Hull’s Freedom Festival
to over 15,000 people. Now the band are set to release their first EP ‘Take The Ride’ recorded live in
The Warren Studios which is a wonderful taste of what is to come from the band. This EP is raw and
full of energy from the dirty ska punk to the rap influenced double vocals.

Take from this recording an innocent and honest moment in time which captures the energy and
passion of a group of friends at the beginning of their journey into the history book of political
ska-punk.” Stewart Baxter - Project Manager - Warren Records
